Our story began in May of 2015 while working summer jobs as camp counselors. Lexi, who was new that summer, found herself navigating the chaos of camp, and Ty, with a few summers under his belt, became her go-to guide for all things camp-related. He quickly became Lexi's first work buddy. He'd show her the ropes, crack jokes, and make even the mundane tasks feel like an adventure. By the end of the summer, Lexi not only nailed the camp chores but also found herself part of a fantastic foursome of work friends with Ty, Becky, and Nick, who were already thick as thieves. Lexi got her golden ticket to hang out outside of work, and that was the spark that ignited something special. As fall came around, Lexi journeyed back to UW-Whitewater, while Ty returned to UW-Oshkosh for his final college year. Despite the distance, we continued to periodically exchange text messages and plan occasional reunions with Nick and Becky whenever our schedules aligned. Our story took an exciting turn in the summer of 2016. Fate led us back to working together at camp once again and one more summer is all it took as Ty asked Lexi to be his girlfriend on August 1, 2016. Little did we know that August 1st would evolve into a date of extraordinary significance. Exactly six years later, on that very day, Ty proposed on the pier at one of our cherished havens—Lexi's family cabin in Three Lakes, WI. With August 1st now adorning our love story with two monumental moments, we felt an undeniable pull to make it our forever date. One year later, on August 1, 2023, we chose to solidify the significance of this cherished day by officially tying the knot in an intimate celebration, just the two of us. Making this date a timeless reminder of our wonderful journey that we will continue to embark on together.
