How we met

We met through two of our closest friends during a competitive game of mini golf. One Friday night we were both invited to go to Popstroke to enjoy the night with Ty's childhood best friend Benj and my close friend/roommate Kayla, who were engaged at the time. We had a great night of conversation and found similar interests in our love for sports, our family and most importantly Jesus. The next day Ty asked Benj for my number and our love story began!

Our 1st date-Her Story

Ty lived in Tucson when we met, and I was living in Phoenix. We texted and called pretty much every day for about 3 weeks and then Ty asked me on our first date. It was Arizona's homecoming football game, and I was so excited! The excitement slowly turned into panic after I realized Ty had met me as a blonde and I had just dyed my hair back to my natural red lol great timing. The 2 hour drive to Tucson was a bit nerve racking but I was so giddy to finally see him and the special weekend he had planned. We went tailgating and I got to meet his close friends and swim teammates that were back for homecoming weekend. Every single person I met had the most amazing things to say about Ty, so I knew he was a good one. We had so much fun watching the night game and then had brunch together before I left in the morning. It was the perfect weekend.

The Proposal- His Story

I began planning to ask Emie to marry me as soon as I bought the ring. Phoenix is where we met, so I knew it was where I wanted to propose. Our time together spent in Phoenix is always so special, and filled with many memories, so I wanted to take a trip down memory lane to set up the night. One thing the two of us love is a good happy hour, so to start the night we went to Windsor, the first happy hour we ever went to. Next up was dinner at La Locanda, our favorite Italian restaurant. La Locanda is where Emie took me for my birthday, and that date night is still one of our all-time favorites. After dinner was over, we went for a walk around Old Town Scottsdale. I could tell Emie was suspicious because we started walking in the opposite direction of our car. After a short walk through the nearby park, we came to the spot I planned to get down on one knee. So that's what I did. I told her how much I love her, how amazing our relationship is, and how I wanted to be with her the rest of my life, and when I asked if she would marry me, she said YES!! I hired a photographer to capture our special moment, so we spent some time with them, but this is not where the night ends. Afterall, I had planned with her friends to have a surprise engagement party set up at home, but that wasn't our next stop. To cap off our night out, we stopped by The Beverly for a debrief of all the details that came together to make the night possible. I felt like I had been hiding so much from her for so long it was so fun to finally be able to tell her everything. After chatting we made our way home where many close friends and family gathered to celebrate. Together they made an already special night even more so, and helped end my perfect proposal plan!
