Sometimes the best things in life come exactly when you aren’t looking for them. For us, that moment came at Western Illinois University, where we met and instantly clicked. After our meeting, Ty’s good friend and fraternity brother, who was dating my college roommate at the time, quickly realized we were perfect for each other and encouraged us to see where things could go. We first met on April 25, 2024, and it didn’t take long for something special to grow. Just a short time later, on May 9, we officially started dating. From there, we spent Ty’s senior year at Western building a relationship rooted in friendship, laughter, and shared values. As life continued to move forward, so did we. Ty began working back home in Brimfield, Illinois, while I finished my senior year, commuting to school and working, and learning what it truly means to support one another through busy and growing seasons of life. In October, right in the middle of harvest, Ty quietly went to look at rings, leaving his phone in the tractor early one morning so I would not suspect a thing. I had no idea what was coming. On Christmas Day, 12.25.2025, after opening presents, Ty completely surprised me with a proposal I will never forget. To celebrate, we escaped to Galena, soaking in the joy of the moment and the excitement of what was ahead. Looking back, it is impossible not to see how perfectly God placed us in each other’s lives, at just the right time and in just the right way. We cannot wait to begin this next chapter together
