We met in high school through a mutual friend. On our very first date, we went to The Reef in downtown Olympia for milkshakes. Ty ordered a peanut butter milkshake, and Aubri ordered a chocolate milkshake. Somehow wires got crossed, and instead of two separate shakes, they brought us one with peanut butter and chocolate mixed together. That unexpected combination ended up being the perfect metaphor for us. That night, we sat in Ty’s car for nearly five hours talking about everything and nothing all at once.
