Question

Do I get a plus one?/¿RECIBIRÉ UN PLUS ONE?

Answer

We’re so excited to celebrate our special day with you! Please note that our guest list is limited, so we kindly ask that only those named on the invitation attend. / ¡Estamos muy emocionados de celebrar nuestro día especial contigo! Ten en cuenta que nuestra lista de invitados es limitada, así que te pedimos amablemente que solo asistan quienes estén nombrados en la invitación.

Question

High Altitude

Answer

Mexico City is based at the top of a mountain, so please be prepared for an altitude change depending on where you're traveling in from. It sits right at 7,300 sq ft above sea level. Stay hydrated, pack electrolytes, and if you can, try to arrive at least a day or two before the wedding day to help better acclimate. Drink bottled water and lots of it!

Question

What to pack

Answer

October is a pleasant time to visit Mexico City, with mild temperatures ranging from mid 70s to low 60s F. The city's high elevation means that there can be a significant temperature difference between day and night. We recommend packing layers!

Question

How should I pay for things in Mexico City?

Answer

The U.S. dollar cannot be used in México, so get some from the nearest ATM when you arrive. Most places also take credit cards, but it’s best to have some cash for tips, public restrooms, street tacos, etc. You’ll see the $ sign on all prices, but this refers to the Mexican peso, not the U.S. dollar. Most places (including streets vendors/markets) will accept Visa and American Express. If in doubt, ask! *Make sure to notify your bank when/where you will be traveling prior to leaving the U.S*

Question

Can I drink the water?

Answer

Mexico City's tap water is undrinkable (for locals and tourists alike). We advise drinking bottled water 100% of the time. Any water or ice served at a restaurant will be bottled/purified but if you are ever in doubt, just ask! Also, be cognizant when brushing your teeth and showering. Bring some Pepto or Immodium just in case! If you bring a reusable bottle, restaurants are legally required to refill them at no charge if you ask them to. They will refill it with purified water.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

This will be an adults-only event with the exception of select children. We greatly appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes! We are asking our guests to dress up with us! The dress code for our wedding is formal, black tie optional attire. We encourage knee-length, midi, or floor length dresses for ladies and suits with ties or tuxes for gentlemen. It will get a little chilly in the evening, so keep that in mind. Please no casual attire (jeans, sneakers, etc)-Dress to impress!!

Question

When should I arrive?

Answer

Completely up to you (and what your PTO allows lol). We encourage people to arrive at minimum on Wednesday, October 14 to allow time to acclimate to your new surroundings and food.
