We met on a Canada Day evening at the beach, just after watching the fireworks with our own groups of friends. As Tyana and her friends made their way out, one of her friends saw Dakota and noticed that he was eating a burger and could not resist but to run up to steal a bite. That bite didn't go far and the burger was dropped. Then Tyana came running up behind and that's how our story starts. As the impulsive bunch we are when we all get together, many unforgettable funny memories were made throughout the evening. While we are still working on our story, we are happy that you all get to be part of this chapter. We look forward to seeing you on our special day. Our Most Memorable Trip We've been lucky enough to have a few weekend get-away's, however the one that sticks with us the most is our trip to Sudbury. This was the very first trip, we had taken together. Our reason for going began with Tyana needing to travel all the way there to pass her drivers test for her G license. It was a spontaneous decision for Dakota to tag along, this allowed us to make a remarkable memories out of the long journey ahead. The beginning of the trip started like any other, as we fuelled up on snacks and coffee. We were taken aback by the beautiful lightly snowy scenery from our drive up, realising that we could have better prepared by having snow tires on the vehicle. Once settled in our hotel room, we scouted out for adventures that awaited. First stop was the Museum of Science, where we learnt the science of the creatures and the history of the beautiful hills around us. Tyana's favourite moment was living out her dream of being surrounded by butterflies, the symbol of growth and new beginnings. The following days we enjoyed each others company by exploring the possibilities and sights Sudbury had to offer, such as the Big Nickel. As close as we already were, the trip helped us grow closer by envisioning what type of life we could build together, all while relaxing via a spa day and a hike in the hills. On the journey back, we were hit with a storm extending our deep-seated car ride conversations. Taking time together means the most to us, and we've captured many moments on the way. We'll have some photos posted of our adventures thus far :) Dorkiest Thing About Us Dakota says it is our chess matches, however Tyana states that its the never ending competitive rivalry towards one another. An Unforgettable Date A surprise picnic hosted by Dakota on a secret hill top in Kanata. Out of the two of us, Dakota is the one who always has the timing right, he managed to get Tyana to the location just on time enough to see the sunset. All of Tyana's favorite snacks and drinks were prepped and ready to enjoy as we sat and chatted away about our day on the fuzzy and warmed up blanket laid out on the grass. Our Favorite Activities 1. Playing chess & video games cozy at home 2. Having good times while enjoying campfires with friends and family 3. Walks and beach days with our pups How He Put A Ring On It Everyone remembers that big storm sometime in May 2022.... May 21st, that was the day Dakota decided he was gonna pop the big question. He had decided we were gonna go on a hike on the Eagle's Nest Trail In Calabogie, regardless of the storm that just passed through multiple towns. The weather for the day had seemed to turn bright and sunny. It was a quiet and relaxing drive up to Calabogie, as Dakota was trying to keep his nerves at bay. We started our hike and took photos of all the beautiful sights along the way. It was all part of Dakota's sneaky plan to have him using his phone to take photo's of us seem casual ;) Once we reached the peak of the hill is where he decided to solidify the moment. He got down on one knee and listed all the sappy reasons why he loves Tyana and wants to be with her, all while we got eaten alive by mosquitoes. The drive home was filled with love and excitement for the upcoming future. Once arrived, we spent the evening in our home with no electricity and nothing but ourselves <3
