We met on a Christian dating app called CrossPaths. We both lived in the same area but went to two different Christian Universities. Most people assume we met at the same school since, when we met, we were both in college in the same year. Fortunately, God works in more mysterious ways than that. Despite growing up cross country, going to two different Christian Universities, and one not even knowing the others college existed, we found each other on a small, nobody had ever heard of, dating app. We clicked instantly and eventually fell in love.

I bought the ring in November of 2019 just under a year of knowing her but I knew she was the one I couldn't live without. I had waited over a year just like she asked because she knew I was impatient. February 22nd, 2020 rolled around and I had made plans to take her to an escape room with her sisters. I got there early and asked them to hide the ring at the end of the puzzle. They were all too happy to accommodate. When we got into the escape room (which was Alexander Hamilton themed, her favorite musical), we solved puzzle after puzzle and I was just waiting for the end. We all stood back as Laraina opened the last box when...she didn't notice it at first. She was so excited about finishing the room she didn't take a closer look. Her sisters told her to look again and I got down on one knee.
