It all started on a cold evening in December of 2014 with the words, “What’s a cute girl like you doing getting matched up with a nerd like me?” Corey was a recent college graduate working in Columbia while spending his free time playing Magic the Gathering, and Angie was finishing the last semester of her undergraduate degree at Mizzou while presiding over her sorority’s local chapter. We joked in the beginning about how unlikely it was for a sorority president and a nerd to match up but you know what they say about opposites. After Angie graduated, she found a job back home in Kansas City while Corey stayed behind to continue work in Columbia. After a few months apart, we broke things off but it didn't take long for us to realize what a big mistake that was, and we decided we would find a way to make our relationship work. Once we established that we wanted a future with each other, we started making plans for Corey to move back home to Kansas City and the rest is history. We’ve experienced life’s ups and downs together. We moved in together, rescued two dogs, traveled, offered each other strength through the losses of Angie's father and Corey's grandfather, supported each other as we faced life's various challenges, and we are excited to continue on this journey of life together. We can’t wait to stand in front of our dearest friends and family on May 23, 2020 as we come together to become the Podges.
