Our love story was a tale of God ordering our steps. Our single hearts lead us down an interesting path that put us at Centrum Church together. Both of us meeting Pastor Derrell Young at formative stages of our lives fed us spiritually and kept us connected to his Ministry. Jason met him while attending Winston Salem State University while Mona met him at a Mount Carmel Baptist church young adult bible study. God knew our seemingly random paths would cross at the launch of Centrum Church years later as we both were seeking a deeper relationship with Christ. God allowed us to meet in 2019 and we instantly clicked. Jason asked Mona out on a date to Midwood Smokehouse that ended with watching the Charlotte Motor speedway Christmas lights. Shortly after this date Jason formally ask Mona to be mutually exclusive. Our almost 2 year journey has been amazing. We’ve both grown closer together while serving as chairs on the Centrum Church Outreach Ministry. Our love survived the ups and downs of 2020 and we became engaged 02/13/2021! God knows our deepest desires and he is so faithful towards us. We thank God for meeting one another and helping each other grow in our faith. We look forward to growing old together, strengthening our family bonds and cherishing every moment of our journey. Our foundational scripture is: 1 Corinthians 13:13.
