A Few Helpful Travel Tips:
Health & Safety: It's a good idea to drink bottled or filtered water and avoid raw street food unless you're with a local who recommends it.
Respect Local Customs: Karnataka is diverse and rich in culture. Modest clothing is appreciated in temples and religious sites. Shoes are usually removed before entering homes and places of worship.
Money & Payments: While digital payments (like UPI or Google Pay) are widely used, cash is still important in smaller shops or remote areas. ATMs are available in cities and towns.
Transportation: Uber and Ola (India’s version of ride-hailing) work well in major cities like Bangalore and Mysore. Auto-rickshaws are convenient too—just be sure to agree on a price or ensure the meter is used.
Be Mindful of Belongings: Like in any busy travel destination, be aware of your personal items in public spaces. Use cross-body bags, keep phones and wallets secure, and avoid carrying passports unless necessary.
