We first met in school, crossing paths through mutual friends long before we ever imagined we’d end up here. By freshman year of high school, something just clicked, and from that moment on we were pretty much inseparable. We grew up together through every milestone — high school dances, long practices, college classes, and all the little moments in between — with Dylan completing his degree at Southern Wesleyan and Savannah finishing hers at Clemson. After seven months of secret planning (and everyone knowing except Savannah), Dylan told her we were going apple picking, a tradition both of our families love. There was just one small issue: apple season had already ended, since the apples had fallen off the trees weeks earlier. So he improvised and said Mema wanted family photos at a tree farm first. When we arrived, Savannah immediately noticed something was off — Dylan’s family was nowhere to be found, which never happens. A short walk later, overlooking the mountains, Dylan turned her around, got down on one knee, and asked the easiest yes of her life. It was the perfect beginning to this next chapter.
