Where is the venue?

Answer

Our venue is The Wilds Wedding & Event Venue. The address is: 6483 E Kent Rd Bloomington, IN 47401 The property is located partially down a gravel road.

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

Our celebration will be adults only (18+), unless children are specifically mentioned on your invitation or are in the wedding party. Thank you for understanding.

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

We kindly ask that you only bring the guests listed on your invitation. If you received a plus one, it will be noted there.

Do you have a registry?

Answer

Yes! Since we have lived together for a few years now, we have only set up a honeymoon fund on our registry. You can find our registry by going to the registry button on this website, and there will also be a cash/check card box available at the venue. If you are doing a check, please make payable to either Brooklyn Halbig or Joel Turpen. You can also ask Brooklyn directly for her Venmo if you would like to contribute that way prior to the wedding day.

Is there parking available?

Answer

Yes, there is parking available for up to 100 cars. If you are able to carpool or uber from your accommodations that is always a great option! Vehicles can be left on the property overnight and picked up the next morning.

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please plan to arrive 15–20 minutes before the ceremony start time so you can find your seat and settle in.

What’s the dress code?

Answer

The dress code is semi-formal. For women: dresses, skirts, or nice blouses. For men: dress shirt and dress pants (tie or suit jacket optional). For women, please avoid wearing white or anything off-white, and maroon (this is the color of our bridesmaid dresses). We would recommend wearing fall colors thought since it will be October and our wedding decor will be fall-themed!

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our reception and cocktail hour will be outdoors, with the reception being indoor and outdoors. In case of rain, the ceremony will remain outdoors under a covered space, while the cocktail hour will move inside.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

We will have a cash bar available. Please bring cash or card if you’d like to enjoy a drink.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that all phones are put away during our ceremony. We have hired a photographer and videographer to capture our ceremony, so there will be plenty of pictures to come later! We also want to make it as easy as possible for our pros to get the photos and video without phones in the way!
