Our First Date

07/26/2014

As most of you know, Cameron and I met on a Dating App. After a week of texting I decided it was time to meet. I ended up asking him to be my date for a friend's BBQ. The day of, I was impatiently waiting for him to pick me up at my house in San Clemente. All of a sudden, I received a text that his Jeep broke down on the freeway. My first thought, "I am being stood up." So I politely replied, wrote him off, and headed to the BBQ by myself. To my surprise, I received a text from him about an hour later asking if it was okay and if he could bring a friend because his car was in the shop and he needed a ride. When him and Diego arrived, I knew I was already falling for this sweet man who just spent hours of car trouble and travel just to meet me. After a night of talking, dancing, and multiple beer pong victories we were both hooked. The rest is history. We are SO excited that we get to say "I do," exactly 5 years after this crazy, amazing, fateful day.

The Proposal

07/29/2018

When Danielle and I finally came up with a plan for our 2018 anniversary trip I thought to myself, “okay, pop the question at the beach picnic”. I packed the ring in a deep pocket in my bag and did my best not to check on it. Carrying it around as we explored in and around Redondo beach, getting more and more nervous as time grew closer to the big moment. We headed down to Abalone cove only to find out that the entrance closes before the park does, bummer. I turned us around and headed towards Point Vicente lighthouse. We walked around while I looked for a not crowded area with something for me to put my camera on for our sunset picnic picture. We walked around the back of a wedding and Danielle was talking about these people's ceremony, and I spotted the perfect spot for our picnic. After we ate a little bit I set up the camera on a trash can and we went to the railing by the edge of the cliff overlooking the ocean. I was so nervous and she could tell that this wasn't our normal picture routine. She looked a little confused when I started talking about our relationship while she was trying to pose for the camera. Finally I went for it, as I was pulling out the ring and dropped to my knee she shouted yes and jumped to give me a very excited hug. I clutched the ring box, heard too many stories of rings flying off cliffs. After she had calmed down a bit she started calling friends and family to tell them The news. It was, without a doubt, one of the happiest moments of both our lives. I still can't believe I get to marry the woman of my dreams.
