WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!

In the age of online dating, especially Bumble, you never know what to expect or who you will meet. For those of you who don't know, Bumble is a dating app which requires the woman to reach out to the man first. In order for her to reach out, both parties must swipe right and become a "match". After Ryan and Lauren matched, it was a no brainer for Lauren to reach out. Ryan was a tall, dark, and handsome avid traveler who loved country music! We definitely did not expect that a few weeks of texting conversations about traveling, country concerts and our families would lead to a 3 and a half-hour date that neither of us wanted to end. Since our first date, we've only spent a few days apart (against our will) due to work schedules.

While Ryan had completely different plans for the proposal, things took an unexpected turn. Lauren and Ryan had a trip planned to visit New Orleans, Marco Island and Key West where they would see a Chris Stapleton concert, visit Lauren's family and ultimately result in the most perfect proposal where Lauren would say yes and they would live happily ever after. Unfortunately COVID-19 happened. The trip got cancelled, mandatory quarantine came into effect, and his planned proposal didn't happen. Fast forward to 4 days into quarantine. As you all know, mandatory quarantine can take quite the toll on you emotionally and physically. Factor in Ryan being a first responder on the front lines as well as several unknowns about jobs, health and cancelled plans. Lauren was a bit of hot mess crying on the bed thinking about the future. Ryan being the calm, cool and supportive partner he is, wiped away her tears and reassured Lauren that everything will be okay and walked away. He returned just seconds later with a box and simply said, "Marry Me". And in that moment, everything was right in the world and love conquered all. Happy tears quickly streamed down Lauren's face as she said yes. While Ryan had quite different plans, it was the most perfect, romantic and simple proposal that was so incredibly special as it took place in the home that Ryan and Lauren have created together.
