We met on Match.com in March 2017 and didn't meet until April 2017, the day before Easter. Our first date was in downtown Naperville. We met up in the parking garage and started walking around. Jason had made reservations at one restaurant but we ended up eating at Front Street Cantina on Jackson St. After dinner, we didn't want the date to end so we walked around the river walk and the downtown area. We made probably 100 laps around the downtown area, just talking and laughing with each other. We shared our first kiss standing on a bridge, with the river running beneath us. At the end of our first date, we both knew that we wanted to see more of each other. But we had no idea that we had just started our happily ever after.
On April 13, Jason took me to Glacier Park in Ringwood, Illinois. It's a beautiful conservation park that has rolling hills, wildflowers, marshes, bogs, hiking rails and horse trails. When we started driving into one of the parking areas, we saw 4 swans in the marsh. We started to get out of the car and started walking towards the marsh area. Jason said that he forgot something in the car and turned around to head back to the car. He expected me to just wait at the back of the car but I went to the passenger window and started making faces at Jason. Unbeknownst to me, he was getting the ring out of the door of the car! I had no idea what was going on. We walked down to the little dock area over the marsh and were looking out over the marsh and watching the swans swim through the water. Jason was standing behind me and put his hands on my shoulders and turned me towards him and asked me if I wanted to "do forever with him". I threw my head back and laughed and said "of course! Yes!" I was so happy, I couldn't stop smiling. I wanted to tell everyone that we came across that day that we had just gotten engaged. Never in a million years, did we think that we would be this crazy in love with each other!
