Our paths first crossed in 2019, when we both attended Living Hope Church. We didn’t know each other personally, but we ran in the same crowd. Fast forward to the fall of 2023. It was a warm November morning and Sam was sitting in his biology class at YCP. His best friend Dawson was really pushing Sam to put himself out there in the dating world, so he remembered this girl, but didn’t know how to reach her because he didn’t have her number, so he messaged her on Instagram. It just so happened that she posted a picture from a lantern festival a day before, so he had an excuse to talk to her. Kelly was sitting on her outdoor porch when she received a message asking “where was this?" she answered his question, and then they proceeded to have conversations about life, college, and eventually Sam asked for her number. Well, they talked and talked until Sam finally mustered up the courage to ask Kelly on a date, Kelly mustered up the courage to say yes, and the rest is history.
