If You Ask Amber: It all started with two friends at Chick-fil-A. One of my best friends Chloe was trying to set me up with Jeremiah. She lost me when she explained he lived in Williamsburg and attended church up there. After seeing his Facebook profile picture I decided that maybe the 30-minute drive was worth it. It took some time but eventually, after about 5 Sundays since being introduced Jeremiah FINALLY got the courage to come up to me on his own. After asking me the same question about 3 times I took matters into my own hands and made the biggest move of all time. I asked him out on a date to get ice cream (shout out to Tabitha Hodges for the idea!) He sure was eager because he asked me if I wanted to go right then and there. My friend Celeste had driven me up to Williamsburg that night so I told him I couldn't but that we should exchange numbers to figure out a time we could go. I ended up getting his number and we texted nonstop until our first date. We went out to Meadows on Saturday, May 7th and the rest is history. I'd like to say I did all the work but there were many key players involved, including God. I prayed my whole life for a love like this and I am not at all surprised that I found it in church :) If You Ask Jeremiah: It all started when I saw a pretty girl in church, sitting a few rows in front of me. I’m sure the message was great that day but I don’t remember a word of it because I couldn’t stop wondering who this girl was. We were introduced to each other the following Sunday and it seemed like everyone knew about it but me. We only got to talk for a few minutes, but that’s all it took for me to want to see her again on the following Sundays. I had seen her there a couple of times after, but I didn’t dare to go up to her. I felt like I waited too long so I asked my brother and sister in law to work the church magic and make sure she showed up at least one more time. The next Sunday, I stopped her right before she left but I hadn’t planned what to say when the moment came. I asked her the same question that I had asked 4 times already about her wanting to lead a student group (where I was on Wednesday nights). Thankfully she took a little more initiative than me and asked me if I wanted to get ice cream at some point. And then I said, “Oh, right now?” And she said no. But she got my number and we went to Meadows in Williamsburg the following Saturday for ice cream. Afterward, we walked around Colonial Williamsburg and talked and talked for hours. There wasn’t a single moment of silence or any awkward pauses the entire night and that’s when I knew that Amber was special. We’ve shared so many memories and adventures since then and I am so thankful that God placed her in my life, and that we get to spend the rest of ours together.
