If you ask Mike how we met, he may tell you an elaborate story of how we met on the beach in Sandy Hook during a summer storm. If you're looking for the truth, we met on Hinge in the fall of 2017. Mike first asked Syd if she wanted to go to a jazz bar for drinks, but Syd was confused - why wouldn't we just go to a bar for Thursday Night Football? After all, we had been talking about sports the past few weeks. The date was going so well, but Mike was anxious that Syd refused to check her fantasy lineup and confirm that she started Todd Gurley who had three TDs that evening. She was just having so much fun that she didn't want her phone to distract her from the amazing guy in front of her. Over the next six weeks, we went on a flurry of dates. This, of course, includes but is not limited to Syd being concussed and forgetting we had plans to watch Miami beat FSU, Mike putting on a DDR clinic at Dave and Buster's, and Mike inviting Syd out to a Halloween party in Jersey - stopping at his house first with no warning that Syd was about to meet her future mother-in-law (because, you know, Syd would maybe want to brush her hair and not be in sweatpants). A few weeks after meeting, Mike asked Syd to be his Valentine and almost nine years later, here we are. Since then, we've been on various adventures and made countless memories with each other, and have had the pleasure of sharing many of these with all of you.
