We met when Anna decided she wasn't going to wait around for a date to go to a nice meal so she took herself out to dinner at Stoic and Genuine and sat at the chef's counter. Lo and behold Eric had been forced to work a double shift when one of his line cooks called in sick and *happened* to be working the raw bar. It was February 2016. Pleasantries were exchanged, dishes were consumed, one of us cut themselves opening an oyster because they were a little distracted, and finally Eric subtly slid over his business card and Anna emailed him a few days later cause we are both clearly super smooth and good at flirting. Our dates after that mainly centered around exploring Denver's awesome food and drink scene in addition to getting out of the city for hikes and trips whenever we could. Eric's chef-schedule and Anna's teacher-schedule didn't always match but we made time for each other and quickly learned we shared the same values, love of our families, and sense of adventure. Once we started traveling together we solidified our relationship as true companions with a whole world of adventures (and food!) awaiting us and decided to take the ultimate adventure of moving in together in June 2017. Less than a year later we got our dog, Chewie, and that summer we supported each other through some major career shifts. Eric got out of the kitchen and Anna got out of the classroom. Finally being on the same schedule allowed us to spend the time together necessary to determine the destination of our relationship-adventure. In April 2019 Eric, Chewie, and Anna went for a little hike in the snow to Lost Lake, near Nederland, Colorado. There Eric presented a fully-decorated scrapbook of our relationship, dropped to one knee, and proposed. Anna said something like, "OMG OMG yeah duh! blargh blerg" so here we are. We tied the knot officially on 9/12/20 in COVID mini-style but we look forward to celebrating with all of you this year! <3 Anna + Eric
