O'ahu (home to Honolulu, Waikiki, and the famed "North Shore"). The most populated and "urban" of the islands. Also the most visited by tourists.
The ceremony will be intimate, with only a handful of people gathered around us on the beach. We are exploring a LiveStream option for ALL to see; near or far.
The short answer is: YES. While it is possible to get around the tourist center without a car, transportation to and from the North Shore is not reliable/steady. In order to fully experience the island, we strongly recommend renting a car.
No. We anticipate that everyone will have wildly different preferences for where they would like to stay and price range. Some will prefer to stay up North Shore, some will prefer to stay in a hotel in Town/Honolulu, and some will prefer to stay in AirBNB's off the beaten path. There is not one hotel that is a bullseye cross section for everyone's needs and pricing.
The lovely couple was introduced by mutual friends, Amy and Jay, who had the very excellent insight to call up Jenn when Carolyn was assigned to military duty in Hawaii.
