FAQs

The Wedding Website of Claire Bertram and Tucker Pennington
A note to our guests: we have some immunocompromised family members who will be attending the wedding, and your health and the health of all our guests is very important to us. It'd mean a lot to us if you took extra precautions (like masking) while traveling to help us avoid anyone getting sick from our big day. If you’re feeling unwell or showing any symptoms of illness on the week before or day of the wedding, we kindly ask that you take a COVID test, and if you are positive, please follow the medical guidelines for masking and/or isolation. We acknowledge that we cannot mandate any of this, so we trust in your good nature and appreciate your grace and empathy in this situation.
Question

Can I bring a date or my kids?

Answer

We can only accommodate those listed on the invitation you received, which will include your guest or children if they are invited.

Question

I'm coming from out of town. Where should I stay?

Answer

Chicago has tons of great lodging options. Check out our recommendations and room block under the 'Travel' tab.

Question

How should I get to the venue?

Answer

We recommend taking a rideshare to the ceremony. Use "Farm in the Zoo" as your destination. After you are dropped off, walk across the bridge toward the yellow Honeycomb structure, where you'll find the ceremony. It's a 3-5 minute walk. If you decide to drive, note that street parking can be quite difficult right by the venue, and we will not have a valet. If you do drive, we recommend using the app SpotHero to book a spot in advance.

Question

What should I wear to the welcome party?

Answer

We ask that you wear cocktail attire– something you might wear on a date or night out. For men, we suggest khakis or slacks and a button down shirt. For women, cocktail dresses or jumpsuits. We kindly ask that you do not wear jeans.

Question

What should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

We ask that you dress in formal attire– midi or full-length dresses or jumpsuits, and suits & ties. Note that there is a ~3 minute walk on a paved pathway from the ceremony to the reception space. If you need accommodations from the ceremony to the reception, please let us know so we can include you in the existing accommodation plan.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Chicago in June can either be very warm or quite cool. Please keep an eye on the weather as the wedding gets closer, and it's not a bad idea to bring a light jacket or shawl in case it's chilly in the evening. We anticipate that it will be high 60's or low 70's.

Question

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the ceremony?

Answer

No, please don't! We have professional photographers covering our wedding, and we do not want to see phones in the background of our ceremony photos. You are more than welcome to take your own photos after the ceremony and during cocktail hour and the reception.

Question

What's the RSVP deadline?

Answer

Please RSVP by May 1st.

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

Yes! You can find a link to our registry under the 'Registry' tab.

Question

Are there any events the day after the wedding?

Answer

We don't have any formal events planned for the day after the wedding, but we'll probably hang somewhere local and will share the details for anyone who wants to join. For folks visiting from out of town, we recommend that you take advantage of the weekend and enjoy all that Chicago has to offer!

Question

Is your wedding wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes – there is s paved path from the ceremony to reception location, and we will have a golf cart transporting folks who would like a lift from the ceremony to reception. If you would like to be included in this transportation plan, please let us know. The cocktail hour and reception spaces are accessible via elevator.
