We are so excited to share with you some of the amazing things that are available to do in and around the Gainesville area. Also included are some restaurants that have special meaning to Brett, Jenn, and our families.

Kanapaha Botanical Gardens

4700 Southwest 58th Drive, Gainesville, FL 32608

Great place to go on lovely nature walks. As long as there are no special events, dogs are allowed to walk with you!

Ginnie Springs Outdoors, LLC

7300 Ginnie Springs Road, High Springs, FL 32643
, (386) 454-7188

This is a fun spot for tubing. It is a great time, you can bring your own tube or rent one.

Cedar Lakes Woods and Gardens

4990 Northeast 180 Avenue, Williston, FL 32696
, (352) 529-0055

Very cool area that was built in a limestone quarry. It does involve a lot of walking with a lot elevation changes. It is a beautiful spot, and dogs are allowed with advanced notice.

Florida Museum of Natural History and Butterfly Rainforest

3215 Hull Road, Gainesville, FL 32611
, (352) 846-2000

Free museum, only cost is to go to the butterfly garden, which is amazing!

Harn Museum of Art

3259 Hull Road, Gainesville, FL 32608
, (352) 392-9826

In the same plaza as the Butterfly Rainforest and Florida Museum. Includes new cafe on site.

Cade Museum for Creativity and Invention - Interactive

811 South Main Street, Gainesville, FL 32601
, (352) 371-8001

This museum has a great interactive are where kids can learn and experience science hands on!

The Ivy House Restaurant

106 Northwest Main Street, Williston, FL 32696
, (352) 528-5410

Delicious place to eat in Williston. Try the fried green tomatoes (Jenn's favorite, Brett hates tomatoes!)

Haile Village Bistro and The Queen Arms Pub

5323 Southwest 91 Terrace, Gainesville, FL 32608
, (352) 378-0721

Great restaurant that we visit almost weekly, also it is where we got engaged!!! They have great food and the pub is always busy. Sometimes service can be slow. Also, the desserts are homemade and delicious! Humus at night or pancakes for breakfast! You can't go wrong.

Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza

5757 Southwest 75th Street, Gainesville, FL 32608
, (352) 371-8646

There many locations of this restaurant, it is a family favorite for both families. We love to get lunch there, as the specials are amazing, but you really can't go wrong here.

Brooklyn's Backyard - Ocala

2019 East Silver Springs Boulevard, Ocala, FL 34470
, (352) 304-6292

If you want to stop on your way up or back, or take a trip to Ocala this is a great place! We usually do some antiquing (mostly Jenn) and then have lunch here, or meet Brett's parents for dinner. The family favorite is cheese curds!!!

Mother's Pub & Grill

1017 West University Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32601
, (352) 378-8135

Honestly, this place looks dingy and gross from the outside, but the food is delicious and they serve a full menu all day.

Nine Spices Fondue

3333 Southwest 34th Street, Gainesville, FL 32608
, (352) 792-6622

Another family favorite, and where we celebrated our 6 month anniversary. It is like a buffet Asian version of the melting pot! They have also added Korean BBQ. Family recommendations: have one or 2 people in charge of pulling things so you aren't all reaching over trying to get items.

Linda Vista

7070 Southwest Archer Road, Gainesville, FL 32608
, (352) 377-7866

Great food and atmosphere! It is a cute little restaurant that we eat at when we are hungry before grocery shopping! It has probably saved many an argument from occurring. ;)
