Victoria first laid eyes on Michael while he was performing as Captain Von Trapp in the national tour of "The Sound of Music" when it came through San Antonio. However, they actually met for the first time a couple of years later while performing in the same cast aboard Odyssey of the Seas in fall of 2021. Victoria had a rule to never date anyone in her own cast but, after a conversation with a mutual friend of their's, decided to change that rule. Victoria & Michael got to know each other over the next 10 months while scootering around Santorini, trekking around Turkey, and adventuring through Athens together. When the contract ended in July 2022, they decided to see if their relationship could find it's land legs. (Hint: it was a success!)

Victoria started medical school in the fall of 2022 and was land locked in San Antonio. Michael went back to do another cruise contract and they visited each other when schedules allowed. Fast forward to March 2023 when Michael decided to join Victoria on land and began flight training to become a pilot. Finally together in San Antonio, they began a new chapter together. Victoria introduced Michael to "tubing the river" and hikes along the Guadalupe river as a means of staying close to water -- Michael grew up along the beach in Southern California and Victoria spent 7 years working on cruise ships so it was a struggle to not be close to a body of water. Then on March 31, 2024, Michael planned a date day as a treat for Victoria who was in the midst of studying for her first medical board exam. Michael took her to Guadalupe state park where they hiked along the river. Then under the pretense of taking a cute hike selfie, Michael asked, "Will you make me the happiest man ever? Will you marry me?" and Victoria squawked out "Yes!"
