We first met at UTSA at a Catholic Student Association meeting on a Wednesday night in February 2019. Our friend Bernardo, who was on the leadership team with Ally, was one of the first to meet David, a new member at the time. Realizing that David and Ally shared common interests, he introduced the two of us, and we struck up a conversation about coding. At subsequent meetings, we continued talking and became close friends. Fast-forwarding through the ups and downs of courtship, in November 2019, Ally invited David to an Advent devotional to St. Joseph. It was there that we had a conversation about where the relationship was going. We officially began dating on December 1, 2019—the first Sunday of Advent—with the intention of marriage from the very beginning. Five years, one pandemic, and one degree later, David popped the question outside of St. Mary Magdalen after daily Mass on the Feast of St. Joseph (March 19, 2025). Ally said yes in the garden, in front of the Blessed Mother, while listening to our song—and accepting a hand-carved box David had spent way too long carving. We are truly blessed to be surrounded by your love and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Episodio I: El pacto comienza Nos conocimos en UTSA, en una reunión de la Asociación de Estudiantes Católicos, un miércoles por la noche en febrero de 2019. Nuestro amigo Bernardo, que formaba parte del equipo de liderazgo con Ally, fue uno de los primeros en conocer a David, quien por aquel entonces era un nuevo miembro. Al darse cuenta de que David y Ally compartían intereses comunes, nos presentó y entablamos una conversación sobre programación. En reuniones posteriores, seguimos hablando y nos hicimos muy amigos. Avanzando rápidamente entre los altibajos del noviazgo, en noviembre de 2019, Ally invitó a David a un devocional de Adviento a San José. Fue allí donde conversamos sobre el rumbo de la relación. Comenzamos a salir oficialmente el 1 de diciembre de 2019, el primer domingo de Adviento, con la intención de casarnos desde el principio. Cinco años, una pandemia y un grado después, David le propuso matrimonio a la salida de Santa María Magdalena, después de la misa diaria de la festividad de San José (19 de marzo de 2025). Ally dio el sí en el jardín, frente a la Santísima Virgen, mientras escuchaba nuestra canción y aceptaba una caja tallada a mano que David había tardado demasiado en tallar. Estamos muy agradecidos de que puedan celebrar nuestra boda con nosotros. Es una verdadera bendición contar con su amor y apoyo.
