Her Version: We met on my first day at Baylor. I had signed up for an experimental “Living and Learning” class where all the girls in this class lived in the same dorm and isolated on the same floor and the boys likewise in the boy’s dormitory. Cody had gotten assigned as the CL/RA to the guy’s half of the class. The group was meeting up for lunch outside of Brook’s dining hall. We were in the courtyard in a circle having a discussion and meeting each other. Cody was just outside the circle leaning against a column. Seth one of the other CL’s introduced him. “This is Cody and he doesn’t laugh.” What Seth didn’t seem to know is that Seth wasn’t particularly funny. Cody does laugh. Cody has a wicked and sharp sense of humor and laughs harder at his own jokes than anyone else.

How We Fell In Love

If you are here reading this it shouldn’t be surprising that we are slow learners considering we are now getting married after nearly 12 years together It took us 2 years to admit we liked each other. It happened as most typical college experiences do, during a competitive game of beer pong. We stayed up talking all night well after everyone was gone or passed out and that became a habit for us. I am habitually a night owl. So we had many a midnight to 2 AM conversation. Sometimes through messenger or we would go on walks and sit on top of the car park roof top and map stars while discussing whatever came to mind. Conversations just flowed easily. We both love knowledge and would share anything we found interesting or unusual with each other and eventually we fell in love. I’d bet my life on it that Cody has most of our messenger conversations saved too. He can be surprisingly romantic.

Love in the time of Covid

Answer

The ceremony is outside. Reception is inside but the venue is large and can hold 300 people and we will have roughly 100. There will definitely be more seating than necessary for both parts so feel free to space out and wear mask if you'd like. If you are feeling ill and have to cancel on us last minute that is perfectly okay. We'd rather be safe than sorry.
