Take in the views! The Lone Cypress. (Charge is $11 to access 17 mile drive) Follow 17-Mile Drive’s red-dotted line to arrive at an enchanting world full of dramatic coastal cliffs, snow-white beaches, mystical forests and iconic golf courses.

This is worth the drive deep in to Big Sur. Be sure to set your marker point on your phone prior to leaving cell phone service area. ( Note: no cell service in Big Sur starting just past Carmel Highlands!)

BREAKFAST: Starbucks is at Crossroads off of Rio Road. Downtown Carmel: Rise & Roam on 7th & Mission has amazing selection with quiche, breakfast sandwiches, rolls, avocado toast (personal fav!) Get a great "breakfast burrito" at Cafe Carmel on Ocean & Mission (North side of street)

Carmel River State Beach

Take Scenic drive just past the 90 degree turn and the view of Carmel State beach unfolds before you overlooking Point Lobos. Take a quick left on OCEANVIEW Avenue and park your car there. There are steps right at Oceanview and Scenic- and a great way to get down to the beach. (This is our secret parking spot!)
