Do you have a registry?

Answer

We do not have a registry because we would like to preserve the Chinese/Vietnamese tradition of the "Red Envelope." Therefore, we are requesting monetary gifts. The tradition of the "Red Envelope" dates back to the Song Dynasty (960–1279) in China and offers the newly married couple success, health, and prosperity. Thank you so much for helping us uphold this tradition and being part of our big day!

Question

Will I be fined if I bring outside alcohol?

Answer

YES. There will be a fine of $1,000 for each occurrence of outside alcohol brought into the venue at the expense of the bride and groom. Security and Essence staff will be present to enforce this rule.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes-- please let us know ASAP about dietary restrictions

Is there a shuttle to and from the hotel to the ceremony?

Answer

No-- the hotel is walking distance to the ceremony and reception site.

We love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off!

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.
