Our first date was a beautiful night on the Charleston Harbor for a Blues and BBQ Boat Cruise. Good thing we enjoyed each others company and didn't have to jump overboard! We sat on the top deck of the 3 story boat and had a great evening of conversation! After the cruise, we weren't ready for the night to end and hit the local watering hole- Salty Mike's.

Troy knew that Whitnie being a 'planner' and social, would need time blocked off her schedule to pull off this surprise. Whitnie had a girls' night planned with her closest friends that was canceled at the last minute. Within 5 minutes she was already texting others to see if they wanted to get together. Oddly everyone was "booked." Little did she know this was the plan all along! We decided to head out to Sullivan's Island with our beach chairs and a few beverages, as we would often do on a Friday night. Typically the beach is lively with many groups out enjoying the sunset. When we stepped out to the beach on this occasion it was empty with only 2 people on the beach, we quickly realized it was due to the wind and blowing sand. We put down our chairs and went for a walk. Shortly after Troy got down on one knee and popped the question. Whitnie learned afterwards that the other two people on the beach were the photographers Troy had hired to document the occasion. There was a surprise party afterwards for the couple on Shem Creek to celebrate! (and share lots of happy tears)
