We met in a biochemistry class we took over the summer at UC Irvine. Troy was in class early and I was stumbling in late trying to find a seat, and of course the only seat that was available was up front (where Troy loved to sit). As most first days of class usually start, the professor asked us to turn to the person next to us and share our interests, favorite TV shows, etc. Troy and I had a lot of common interests and soon after became friends. The rest is history!

After a busy and hectic journey thus far with our academic careers, Troy and I decided to take a vacation to the beautiful Oahu, Hawaii. Our hotel had a private beach that we visited the day our flight landed. Troy kept mentioning he really loved that beach but I wasn't too sure why in particular he loved that beach. The next day we had a nice dinner and spent time at that same beach after. With just us two there, walking along the moonlit water, he got down on one knee and proposed. Hawaii will always have a special place in our hearts!
