We found each other at a time when life had already done a fair amount of shaping. We weren't looking for perfect. We were looking for real. From the first date that ended up at Twin Peaks (the obvious choice for a first date), there has always been an ease between us. The kind that shows up in comfortable silence, inside jokes, bonding over true crime podcasts, and knowing that we're exactly where we are supposed to be. While we are polar opposites in some ways -- like him being a Dallas fan and me being a Baltimore fan -- our edges fit together like they were made for each other. If it's live comedy, true crime, Thai food, baseball, or concerning anything with paws, we're all in. Together, we have evolved into a beautifully (mostly) functioning family with a whole lot of love and just a dash of chaos in the center of it all. On a serious note, Truett has been at the heart of this since the beginning. Troy knew it was a package deal and that meant stepping in and stepping up. He has not disappointed. Between supporting Truett's love for baseball and making sure we don't eat mac and cheese every night for dinner, Troy has become a steady, invaluable part of our lives... flipping them right side up in the process. Life for us isn't slow or simple. We're building our futures while balancing everything life throws our way, which somehow includes the questionable decision for both of us to be in school full time. Already a Navy veteran, Troy is stepping into a career in finance with the same steady determination he brings to our family. Troy's support has allowed Kensey to finish her BSN with the goal down the road being an MBA. Together, we are raising an amazing child who continues to challenge us in all the best ways. Our home is full of keyboard clacking, yawns, laughter, and Bob's Burgers in the background. Somewhere between deadlines, long days, and everything in between, we've found a rhythm that works for us; one built on showing up, figuring it out, giving grace, and choosing each other over and over again. I still think there should be more mac and cheese, though. We are so excited for this new chapter in our lives and the fact that we get to celebrate with all of you! CHEERS!
