Troy moved to California from North Carolina for a new beginning/fresh start. He flew into San Francisco where he met his best friend Angela, and her daughter the next day. They decided to meet under the Golden Gate Bridge where Katie was (true to fashion) two hours late. Katie walked up with a bottle of Rum and a six pack of pineapple juice to welcome him to California. Troy knew then she was something special and that this probably wasn’t the first time he would be waiting two hours on this woman!

Angela and Katie accompany Troy to Lake Tahoe to support him meeting a girl for the first time. Troy was so nervous, especially being in a new area, so they made it a group adventure! No matter what happened on this date, at the end of it Troy and Katie planned to full send into the lake to make the trip memorable anyways. By this time, Troy had already started to have feelings for Katie, but didn’t want to cross any lines with her mother, his best friend. By this time, Lake Tahoe was cloudy and rain was starting to sprinkle, but nothing can deter fate. Troy and Katie ran into Lake Tahoe amidst thunder and lightning starting to appear...the air had a chill but the water under their feet was warm like a freshly drawn bath.. and they dove in. Troy knew he was for lack of a better word, fucked. For a moment all they could hear were the rain drops hitting the lake as the thunder applauded our bold choice to swim and the lighting lit up the sky. Fate began to celebrate the inevitable, and Troy was in love. As many of you know, before she fell for the groom Katie had no intention of settling down. The concept of marriage, building a life beside someone, seemed almost inconceivable. Troy thought there was no hope, even if Angela was okay with it there was no chance her daughter would feel the same.. so he put those feelings aside in a desperate attempt to move on.

Troy had started a new relationship with a co-worker, and despite her best efforts Katie detested her. She couldn’t figure it out until her best friend Cassandra suggested jealously. Katie blew her off at first, but throughout the night she had her eye on him. Days passed, when suddenly Angela approached Troy and informed him that she knew of his feelings for her daughter (who didn’t at this point?!). She gave her blessings for him to try if Katie was open to it.

The couple began the New Year with the best resolution possible, to give things a shot. Amidst injuries, illness, heartbreak, and arguments, they pushed through the next half a year with the thought of that day in Tahoe on their minds. By this point, the pair decided to make it a tradition! Every year on the 22nd of July, as long as they were in California they would full send into that same magical Tahoe water. This year Troy had one slight change in mind from last years events, and before they could even pop open a drink Troy was down on one knee with the most beautiful ring in his hand. Katie cried, Troy cried, Angela cried ( A LOT). We are all on this website for the same reason, so of course she said YES!!!! Troy and Katie ask their closest friends and family to join them for a day/night of dancing, drinking, and general debauchery! Let’s get these two married so they can start making some beautiful babies!
