Jasmine and Troy met during their freshman year at Hampton University in 2005. At the time, Troy was a biology major and Jasmine, a Communications major. However, both would later become Business majors, placing them in multiple classes together, as well as group projects. Despite their numerous collaborations throughout their matriculation, Troy and Jasmine remained simply friends. However, all that changed when Troy asked Jasmine to lunch one day in summer school, over 4 years later. For the nine months that followed, the two would hang out nearly everyday. After accepting a job in Washington D.C., Jasmine moved, putting the friendship on hiatus. However, when she returned to Virginia in May 2013, the two picked up where they left off, and began dating exclusively. On February 10, 2015 the couple welcomed their first child, Troy “Trey” Whiting III. Trey has been the joy of their lives ever since. Following the purchase of their first home, Troy proposed on Christmas Day, 2020. The two are happy to announce that they will be married on May 28, 2022. .
