One of my favorite places growing up. Some of my fondest memories are of church and family camp-outs or just visiting for the day. Exploring the woods, bunkers, trails, and adjacent beach is a great way to spend the day. This was one of the first places I took Ryan when he came to visit me in Washington for the first time.

Salt Creek Recreation Area

Take a few friends (don't go by yourself, please) and stroll along the waterfront trail at Hollywood Beach. This was one of the first places that we visited when Ryan flew up to meet me for the first time. We actually saw an otter swimming around out there close by the shore (which I had never seen before, and I grew up here!), so keep your eyes peeled for these fun loving critters.

Beautiful trails leading through the Olympic National Forest along Lake Crescent. If you’re feeling adventurous try climbing Storm King, or take the easier trail up to look at the falls (I personally recommend this one).
