We met while on a Labor Day weekend trip with mutual friends to Ocean City, Maryland. We were both quickly interested when conversations flowed as if we'd already known each other and spent the rest of the weekend side by side! When we got back from the trip, Luke was quick to text MacKenzie and ask her out on our first date. After dinner and drinks on Stone Street, we've been together ever since... Our life lesson to friends and family would be to jump on opportunities and put yourself out there because you never know who you may meet. We are so happy our paths crossed when they did and to have shared so many amazing memories this far!
Luke had the lovely pressure of planning a whole proposal without MacKenzie figuring it out, which is very difficult to do. But he did absolutely amazing! Luke had her friend plan a "birthday brunch" at City Winery in Montogormy, NY. After arriving at the "brunch" the waitress walked them to an empty patio where MacKenzie soon realized, there was no brunch. Luke shared some beautiful words, bringing them both to tears, before getting down on one knee. Afterwards, they took photos around the venue and Luke told MacKenzie all about the ring and planning experience. He had so much fun with the whole process and she was so happy to hear! He successfully pulled off the proposal and completely surprised her again by having their friends and family at MacKenzie’s parents' house after to celebrate and top off the most special day! Shortly after, they continued the celebrations on a trip to Grand Cayman (where MacKenzie originally thought the proposal would happen). It was so amazing to explore a new country as fiances and take the time to ourselves! Then came the wedding planning...
