All Is Fair in Love and WARD!

Though we didn't talk much growing up, I have known Nick most of our lives. When I was 9, I met his cousin Angie and we became best friends! She always invited me to family parties, and we always joked how one day, I would be a part of her family... never knowing this would be a reality. Fast forward 19 years, I was once again invited to a family get together! After saying hello to everyone, I noticed Nick. I think the first thing I said to him was, "Holy crap! You grew up!" LOL We talked all night and then he asked me out! When we went on our date, I think we both knew that it would work! Conversation was easy and even though we had known each other for MANY years, we learned so much more about each other. The next day, we went to a Halloween party together, and we truly have been inseparable since. The Proposal (I found out all of these details AFTER): When it came time to propose, I guess Nick had asked my mom MONTHS before actually doing it. Now, in his defense, she doesn't live in WA... So I like to think he asked her so early because he didn't know when she would be coming back up. Meanwhile, my family kept wondering when the heck he was going to ask as MONTHS passed by, with no news! LOL Then, COVID hit and ruined the original plans of our engagement. Apparently it was a beautiful plan, but I think the one I got was even more special. When my mom got sick, Nick drove down with Bobby to be my support. During this time, we learned my mom may not make it and I lost it because I couldn't not have her there (she has since recovered, thank God!). So, Nick made a new plan with my family, bought a new ring (my real one was in WA), and he planned a new proposal. My aunt and uncle went to the hospital so we could face time with my mom for it, and in true Tristyn fashion, I was running late and everyone was waiting. LOL It worked out in the end and it was truly the most beautiful, special proposal to me! A love story like ours is hard to come by, but I am so thankful for ours, and what the future holds!
