Originally, Tristen and Jennie “met” as classmates at Grass Lake Schools. Tristen graduated with the Class of 2014, while Jennie graduated with the Class of 2015. Although they knew of each other growing up, it wouldn’t be until seven years later that their paths crossed again and their love story truly began. What started as friendly conversations became an opportunity to get to know each other as adults, rather than the kids and teenagers they once were. After spending a few months talking and building a friendship, Tristen invited Jennie over one evening in December of 2021 to watch Christmas movies after work. From that night on, they were inseparable. By August of 2022, they had purchased their first home together — a beautiful two-story house with more than 100 years of history and character. Along with Jennie’s beloved dog, Sushi, they officially became a family of three. Just a few weeks after moving into their new home, the family grew again with the addition of Nellie. Although she is 10 months younger than Sushi, the two quickly became best friends and have been inseparable ever since. Their little family of four was complete. In July of 2025, surrounded by close friends and family during Tristen’s 30th birthday celebration, he officially asked Jennie to become his wife. The answer came easily, as their connection had already long felt like home to both of them. Over the years, Tristen and Jennie have already experienced many of life’s ups and downs together — sickness and health, hardships, loss, unexpected chaos, flying creatures finding their way into the house, and even a broken pipe or two. Through every challenge, they have continued to grow stronger together. Now, they cannot wait to celebrate their marriage surrounded by the people they love most and begin the next chapter of their story together.
