Tristan and Savannah met through mutual friends and Facebook. They went to middle school together but never crossed paths. On December 18th they had their first date. Savannah told herself if this guy doesn’t walk up to the door or open her door then she won’t date him. But, sure enough Tristan exceeded her expectations and more! For their first date they went to Vital to go rock climb and then they walked around old town with hot chocolate and went ice skating. Since Tristan is a hockey player he knew how to ice skate but Savannah didn’t so Tristan held her hand as she took each step on the ice. After that night, they continued to date and fall in love. They had a couple more dates after that. Later that month Savannah was staying at her parent’s house in Chula Vista. Tristan wanted to take Savannah to her first hockey game in San Diego called the Gulls. Savannah’s parents wanted to meet Tristan before he took her to the hockey game so Tristan came over to meet them. Tristan picked up Savannah and drove to the Gulls game. There was a long line to get into the game so Savannah said “why don’t we just park across the street and walk over to the game?” Other people were doing so they thought, why not. They had fun at the game and when the game ended they walked back to the car but only there was NO CAR there. At the time Tristan was driving his Dad’s car so his dad’s car got towed. Tristan and Savannah walked to the tow place which was 2 miles away from the game. They waited in line for HOURS. In that time, Tristan called his dad to pick him up and since the car was his dad’s, his dad had to be there to pick up the car. Meanwhile, Savannah called her dad who was not happy. Both dads met that night as well as Tristan’s little sister, Riss. After an extremely long and exhausting night, they learned to never do that again. As they got to know each other they talked about everything! School, work, marriage, kids and travel! They have a lot that they want to achieve as a couple. They grew to love Bahama Bucks with their favorite concoction being the green apple sugar cookie and it was the best! They enjoyed watching stranger things and how that became apart of their relationship. They enjoy going to the movie theater, kayaking, and spending as much time as possible with their fur babies - Ozzy, Pebbles, and Bandit. Like any real love story, theirs hasn’t been without challenges. Tristan and Savannah have faced more than the average couple, but every obstacle only strengthened their bond. Through the ups, the downs, and everything in between, they’ve learned how to show up for one another, grow together, and choose love every single day.
