We met in Woolls Intermediate here in Hondo, TX. We both had crushes on each other and began to play footsies during class & there was a whole lot of teasing & laughing going on. In the middle of 5th grade, we had to separate and move 1000 miles apart. Though we were young, it never stopped us from staying in contact. We always found a way to communicate through out the years whether it was social media or messaging family members for each others phone numbers. Fast forward to the summer after High School Graduation; we were finally able to reconnect in person for the first time since 5th grade. We spent that entire night together reminiscing about our lives in school and what it was like being 1000 miles apart. It was at that point we became inseparable.
When we were able to reconnect in person, it was love at first sight all over again. Those unspoken and unknown feelings we had in Woolls came rushing back. Of course when you're younger you aren't quite sure what love is yet, only what you have read in books and seen on movies. The body though, it releases high levels of dopamine and a related hormone, these chemicals make us react. Your pupils dilate, palms start to get sweaty, and there is that butterfly feeling in your stomach that doesn't quite go away. This giddy, energetic, & euphoric response can never be mistaken. This is exactly all of the feelings that returned to each of us when we reunited. We spent the entire night reminiscing about our lives and gushing about our dreams and goals. We went to the track field and gazed at the stars, watching the twinkling lights dance in the sky. From this point, we went to the square where we danced and laughed for hours to country music. We hope you can join us in reminiscing to these same songs as we create new memories with our friends and family.
