We met at the restaurant Harpoon Hanna's when we were teenagers. I cheered at the highschool where he played football. We were friends for a few years before we had our first date at Hooked Up. As soon as we started dating, I had just transferred colleges to U of A. We dated long distance and would see eachother on trips and during breaks from school. I finally finished school right before COVID19 hit, and we started living together at his best man’s house because of the pandemic. We lived there together for almost a year before we bought our first house together. It was about another 6 months before we got engaged—but that’s another story! 😉
We booked a flight to Key West, and little did I know what he had planned! We were having the best time ever, and on Wednesday we woke up and decided to go to a bar called Sloppy Joe’s. Tristan went outside to make a phonecall for work, but in reality went to call my dad and ask his permission to marry me! We had a big day planned of jet skiing and snorkeling. After jet skiing, we went to sushi for lunch—its our all time favorite! We were getting ready to go snorkeling and we were both so nervous! It was our first time and was so hot outside. I had no idea Tristan was also super nervous about proposing! But we had the most amazing time seeing all of the fish, it was so beautiful. We got to watch the sun start to go down on our way back to land and it was so romantic. When we got to the dock Tristan asked if I wanted to go watch the sun set on the end of the pier and of course I said yes! When we got down there he asked a couple to take a video of us, as he got down on one knee! He couldn’t talk at all, he was just holding out the ring to me, tearing up. Of course I said yes and it was the best time of my life. We were on cloud 9! We sat in that spot for awhile talking about what this means and confirming that we want the same things out of life, and cried a lot! Then we went bar hopping a little and in the meantime called all of our family and friends to share the great news. It was magical! When we got back to our hotel we were tipsy and hungry and ended up ordering Wendy’s from DoorDash haha, Tristan knows the way to my heart is a cheeseburger!😄🍔❤️
