Tristan and I met in high school and quickly became each other’s first everything—and complete best friends. From the very beginning, we did everything together and were completely attached at the hip! Seriously. Whether one of us was sick with the flu, skipping class, or just finding any excuse to be together, you could always find us side by side, laughing at our own inside jokes and completely oblivious to the outside world. We were always making plans about our future at our young ages—traveling the world, moving somewhere far away like Hawaii or Florida, getting married, and one day having babies. Even then, there was never anyone else for us. We loved each other in a unique way that felt deeper than a high school crush. As we grew up together we experienced many milestones together: driver’s licenses, graduating high school, different jobs, college, and living together. Through it all, we grew up side by side. But the most meaningful change in our story occurred when we both came to deeply know and love our Savior, Jesus Christ. Through Him, our relationship transformed. He called us to be better for each other in every way and taught us what it truly means to serve and sacrifice for one another, just as He has done for us. Through our faith, we’ve learned that love is not always found in the grand gestures, but in the small, quiet acts that show you truly see your partner. On my birthday, Tristan celebrates me like I am still a little girl and tells me he is so excited he cannot sleep on the night before my birthday. He neatly folds my pajamas on my bed with a candle intentionally lit in our room after a long day I am at work. He picks onions out of my food (because they're gross) and always asks if I have eaten each day. Tristan prays over me when I am too weak to do so myself. He loves me the way Jesus would love me. As we begin this next chapter, we’re so grateful to gather with the people who have loved and supported us along the way. We chose to keep our wedding small and intimate so we can truly share the day with the people closest to us—laughing together, telling old stories, and celebrating the life we’ve built. More than anything, we hope this day reflects what has shaped our relationship most: faith, family, and love. Our prayer is that the Lord is present among us as we promise our lives to one another and begin this new season together.
