The tagline really says it all. Loren and Tristan met in high school through mutual friends. Over the years remained friends and kept in touch through social media... let's be honest, they were really just stalking each other. Tristan and Loren were both busy working full-time and Loren was also working hard to obtain her degree in Dental Assisting. You might wonder if Tristan ever asked her on a date. Why yes, yes he did...but she turned him down. The actual conversation went something like this: Tristan: "Hey would you want to go see a movie sometime?" Loren: "Like on a date?" Tristan: "yea sure!" Loren: "Hmm..probably not" I know, we can't believe it ourselves. However, Tristan took the rejection lightly and they kept in touch and continued to grow their friendship. He had a puppy after all. One night Loren reached out and invited Tristan over to grab a healthy dinner (burgers from Cook Out). To this day, they both speak of that night as being their most awkward nights together but it was also one of the most memorable. Tristan paid for Loren's dinner, called it a "magic trick", (still a running joke to this day), and they sat outside talking about anything and everything for hours. After making their relationship "Insta-Official," they moved into their first apartment, added another pup to their little family, and decided after COVID-19 had ruined their trip to Disney in May 2020, they would buy their first house! They have been enjoying every minute of their life together ever since.

If you know Loren, you know she doesn't like surprises. She wants to know every detail possible so she can be prepared for whatever is coming her way... even when it comes to her own engagement! Tristan wasn't having it though. He had everything strategically planned out, had multiple backup ideas, and made sure he involved everyone BUT Loren in the details. Even though she had guessed how it would happen and didn't even know it! With the help of their families, he was able to distract her from the big surprise. Here's how it went down: Prior to moving into their new home Tristan devised a plan to have Loren's mom suggest taking a quick picture of the couple in front of their first home. On moving day, Tristan was able to get down on one knee behind Loren while she was distracted taking photos. Not only did he pull off popping the question without her seeing it coming, but also managed to include their parents and some of their extended family who were watching on Facetime! The Ridgewood House will always be a special purchase not just as a first home, but also as the start of their new lives together.
