IT WAS ALWAYS YOU

John had just moved back to Louisiana from New Jersey. John and Tristan met in the first few days of seventh grade, slowly becoming friends over time. After three years, during sophomore year of high school, they went to their first school dance together, and became nearly inseparable from that moment. They parted ways for college, while always having a soft spot in their hearts for each other. Over the next seven years, John and Tristan would meet up every chance they could, even while living in different cities, and eventually different states. Until 2020, when everything changed. Ten pets later, and the rest is history

On a quick trip back to Covington to see their families, John, Tristan, Torence, and Baymax went for coffee and breakfast at Saint John’s Coffeehouse on a rainy, muggy Sunday morning. After breakfast, they all took a short walk down to The Landing, the local spot for hangouts in high school. Right there, in front of the river they swam in countless times as kids, in the mud, John asked Tristan to marry him.
