How we met

Welcome to Cable Dahmer Kia what information can I provide for you today....?

We met back in 2018 when Katy was selling cars at Cable Dahmer Kia and Tristan joined the sales team later on in May. The friendship was a little rocky at first. Let's just say in the car business, competition is everything. As time went on, we started to warm up to each other and realized we were both going through something similar in our personal lives that was hard to get through alone. We leaned on each other for support and companionship. Our friendship grew and we were spending every waking moment together at work and outside of work. We were even able to finesse our managers into giving us the same schedule (lol). One of our favorite memories is when we went to a pet adoption shelter so Tristan could adopt a kitten and we both ended up walking out with brother/sister cats. They were inseparable back then and hated when we had to separate them. After years of being each others best friend, we were there through a lot of ups and downs, promotions, breakups, birthdays, meeting the parents, traveling together, lots of laughs, tears, and beers, and a GLOBAL freaking pandemic. It was at the Chiefs game December of 2020 that we were able to finally admit that deep down we always shared feelings toward each other were so much stronger than our platonic friendship. We officially started dating just a couple months later in February of 2021, built our first home together and moved in July of 2022 and were engaged September 25 2022. Who would have thought when married couples say the secret to a happy life is marrying your best friend, they weren't kidding!

How Tristan Proposed

There was talk of engagement very early on in our relationship. The only condition I had was that Tristan ask my parents permission for my hand, the moment was caught on camera, and that it was a total surprise! After Tristan's parents invited us to a trip to Hawaii, he knew that was going to be when he proposed. HE TOLD EVERYONE! There were so many people that had to dance around acting like they had no idea there was already a ring. On the first full day in Hawaii, we took a walk down the beach of our resort to take pictures of the sunset before our dinner reservation. While Tristan's parents were taking pictures of us with the beautiful sunset in the background, Tristan stops, grabs my hands and starts pouring out his heart to me about how much he loves me and how much we have been through together. Right before he is about to get down on his knee, he starts laughing and says, "JUST KIDDING". In true Tristan fashion he had to break up the moment to make everyone laugh. He THEN got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Quite a few people asked me if I cried and how I felt. To be honest it felt like I totally blacked out. I was in such shock! He truly pulled off a perfect surprise! I kept looking down at the beautiful ring he designed and said, "I can't believe this". After returning I was shocked by the amount of people that told me they knew about it all along and had to keep the secret from me. Thank you to everyone who make the moment a girl waits for her whole life so incredibly special.
