Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen
Here you will find the best beer in Bellingham - maybe even Washington State. Their German-style ales have won awards all over the world. Alicia's go-to is their kolsch. Come for the beer, stay for the snacks. Their kitchen is outrageously good too.
Homeskillet
Super eclectic, crazy delicious breakfast joint with a mimosa garden. *Please note that this spot is tiny. No parties larger than four, and expect a bit of a wait. Trust us - its so worth it.
Boulevard Park
Are you up for a walk? Or maybe you're looking for a good spot with a view for an afternoon picnic. Look no further! Located right on the waterfront of the Bellingham Bay, Boulevard Park has grassy areas with benches and tables, and a long boardwalk that goes out over the water, and leads you to the historic old town of Fairhaven.
Woods Coffee
You'll find Woods Coffee locations all over town, and they're all fantastic. This one happens to be the centerpiece of Boulevard Park. Woods Coffee offers a view of the water, indoor and outdoor seating, and a great list of coffee and tea beverages and snacks.
Twin Sisters Brewing Company
Delicious craft beer, excellent food, and a fantastic vibe to match. Check out their huge outdoor beer garden!
Red Rum
Sometimes what you really need is a boozy, fruity, flaming cocktail. Check out the tiki bar Redrum for devilishly good tropical drinks. Danny's not here, Mrs Torrance.
Whatcom Falls Park
This park is gorgeous, and it is SO close to downtown Bellingham that there is no excuse to not check it out! The waterfall is just steps away when you first arrive, and you can continue over the bridge and onto more trails along Whatcom Creek.
Avenue Bread & Deli-Downtown
Freshly baked bread, coffee, and breakfast sandwiches. Avenue Bread is a staple for us. They do have multiple locations all over Bellingham! Alicia's favorite breakfast sandwich is the B.E.A.S.T.
Rock and Rye Oyster House
Rock and Rye is a great spot for tasty cocktails and raw oysters - if you're into that. Tristan loves raw oysters. They also have delicious small plates like poutine, and you can also find Fish & Chips and a Burger on their menu.
Village Books
We can't venture into Fairhaven without stopping into Village Books. This 3-story bookstore is filled with, well, books! But its also a great spot for magazines, gifts, and there's a cafe on the top floor!
The Black Cat
The Black Cat is located on the 3rd floor of the old-world Sycamore Square building and offers a warm and welcoming charm, accented by exposed brick, original hardwood floors and over-sized windows showcasing views of Fairhaven & Bellingham Bay. Enjoy the classic American bistro-style menu and full bar. Its a great spot for happy hour and Alicia's favorite: Dungeness crab mac & cheese.
