Trista and Dayne’s story began at their college’s Baptist Campus Ministry — Trista a sophomore, Dayne a freshman — connected through a shared friend group and countless nights spent laughing, talking, and growing in their faith. What started as friendship quickly turned into something more… at least for Trista. Everyone seemed to know she liked Dayne — except Dayne. After plenty of nudging from friends, November finally brought honesty. Trista told Dayne she liked him — and to her relief (and everyone else’s), he felt the same. They went on their first date two weeks later and talked all the way into the new year. Trista invited Dayne to a New Year’s party… which he intentionally skipped to watch college football with his best friend. (Yes, really.) But the very next day, January 1, 2023, he made it right — asking her on another date and, at the end of the night on New Year’s Day, asking her to be his girlfriend. From that moment on, they’ve been inseparable. What began in ministry grew into a friendship, then into a relationship rooted in Christ. Through seasons of growth, laughter, and learning, they’ve discovered that the strongest foundation is one built with God at the center. From praying together to dreaming about the future, their relationship has always been guided by faith, grace, and a lot of joy. The next chapter began on October 31, 2025. What started as a birthday weekend trip to Tennessee — complete with a Tennessee football game (Go Vols!) — turned into something even sweeter. Knowing Trista loves waterfalls, Dayne planned a scenic stop, secretly arranged for a photographer, and got down on one knee. Trista was so surprised she completely froze… and Dayne had to ask again. The second time, she said yes. Since meeting at the BCM, it’s been clear that the Lord was writing a story bigger and sweeter than either of them could have planned. What started as friendship has grown into a partnership, a best friendship, and a promise to walk hand in hand — with Christ at the center — for the rest of their lives.
