Portsmouth
Portsmouth has a thriving and walkable New England downtown, featuring many excellent restaurants, shops, museums, and historical attractions. Park downtown at the Hanover Street garage and choose your own adventure! We live near many other charming towns where everything listed above also applies; visit Dover, Kittery, or even take a day trip up north to Portland, all are great options.
Jenness State Beach
This is one of many beaches in the area and makes for a lovely walk. If you don't feel like getting out of the car and getting sandy, we also recommend a scenic drive down through Rye and Hampton on Route 1A.
Mount Agamenticus
For more pretty views, hop north to visit Mt. Agamenticus. If you're a hiker, you have a large network of trails of various difficulties and difficulties to choose from. If you're not a hiker, there's a summit road and you can drive your car right to the top for a free view! On a clear day you can see Mt. Washington, Boston, and the Maine shoreline. Definitely worth a visit!
