The first night we met, we ended up talking for 9 hours straight till the sun came up. We couldn’t believe how easily we clicked, but never thought it would lead to anything since we lived on opposite coasts. After two years of talking for hours on end each and every day, we decided this was destined to be more than just a friendship and decided to meet in person.
We physically met for the first time at BWI airport and we instantly felt comfortable and at home with each other. We planned to stay and explore DC and Baltimore for a few days and on our last train ride back to the hotel, Adam requested for me to stay a few days more. That’s when we both realized that we have a hard time being apart from each other. Before this first trip even ended, I already planned for my next visit.
On Memorial Day 2016, I was already on my second visit to the east coast. We met up with Adam’s family where he introduced me as his girlfriend. I was caught a bit off guard because he hadn’t actually asked and I definitely let him know. This was when I learned that he never did things in order. But that night, as we were in bed talking about the day, Adam officially asked me to be his girlfriend.
After several trips to Baltimore that would span a few weeks at a time, it was obvious that it was getting harder and harder to say goodbye to each other. By December 2016, I got a one way ticket to Baltimore to be with Adam and help him take care of his dad. It was a new challenge that we undertook, but we grew closer and stronger as a couple.
Adam tried to visit San Diego whenever he was able to and he fell in love with it more and more each time. He knew how much San Diego meant to me and that we wanted to eventually call it home. At the end of July 2018, Adam took the plunge and had a one way ticket to San Diego.
