Travel Note
With so many of our guest arriving in Italy at different times we are unable to arrange transportation from the airport to the venue. The best way to get from the airport to venue is by taxi/shuttle or rent a car. The Florence airport is approximately 45 minutes from the venue.
Rental Car
When we went to visit our venue in January, we decided to rent a car and it was well worth it! Taxis and Ubers aren't as prevalent as in the US, especially in the countryside, so having a car made it super easy to get around. It's easier to drive in Italy than you think! Just make sure to specify you want an automatic transmission if you don't drive manual, because that is the default. You can book it directly through the airport like any other car rental. There is a shuttle to and from the rental car agencies. Pro tip - if you are driving near Florence's city center, avoid the "ZTL" area. This is a high pedestrian traffic area with cameras everywhere and you WILL get fined if you drive there. There are signs everywhere, but the GPS apps don't always account for it. Stick to the outskirts and even the countryside when you can and you'll be fine.
