Joey and I first crossed paths on the rugby field at our high school. I used to hang out with the rugby guys before I went to lacrosse practice. One day they guys were messing with me, and Joey thought it would be funny to punt my lacrosse cleats across the field and make me run after them- I thought he was a jerk! We wouldn't see each other again until the summer of 2019 when we swiped right on each other's Tinder profiles (sorry if this is how you found out we did not meet through "mutual friends"!). We first hung out together on Folly Beach, soaking up the sun, swimming, and laughing as we got to know each other. Months later Joey told me I was his girlfriend, and the rest was history. Over the next few years we got through a global pandemic together, worked for the Charleston County Parks together, watched each other graduate, adopted our hoard of cats, and fell more and more in love every day. Eventually, Joey painted the Folly boat- a nod to our many memories on the beach- and got down on one knee. Now we are beyond excited to share our special day with you!
