One of our favorite brunch spots, Seven Swans has the cutest decor, a dog-friendly patio and vegan options.
Heirloom's food and cocktails (and mocktails! all of their cocktails can be made N/A) are delicious. We went for Mia's birthday this year.
The "Midwest comfort food" at Hot Dish is served in generous portions and Alex is always craving their smashburgers, Goosey Lucy's, and pierogi.
Bay View's favorite Mexican food, Guanajuato has great chimichangas (just ask John) and is the "best bang for your buck" according to Alex. You can eat inside or outside!
Looking for a great breakfast sandwich? Look no further. Alley Boys bagels are the best - hands down. (But note that everyone thinks so, so it takes a while to get your order. Order early, online!)
If you visit Milwaukee and don't stop at Kopp's, what are you even doing? Check the website for the Flavor Forecast to be sure you visit on the right day.
This tiny, neighborhood cafe has great pie (if you're looking for dessert that won't melt like frozen custard) and excellent, savory handpies (if you're interested in breakfast or even lunch). It is located just a few blocks from South Shore Park - where our wedding will be!
Can't agree on what you want to eat? This food truck park has lots of options, lots of seating, and a bar. Scratch ice cream is amazing, the arepas are phenomenal, and there is always something new.
Is this the best bar you'll ever go to? No. The food is okay and we do not recommend ordering a paloma (they don't know how to make them), HOWEVER, we feel very fondly about Charlie's - the drinks are cheap, the people watching is great, and we visited often during the panny.
Saffron is delicious. The staff is really helpful and always has recommendations. Also, they have vegan options!
Strip mall dumplings? Say less.
When restaurants opened back up for in-person dining, this is where we went for Alex's birthday in 2020. Delish. Don't visit if you're not a small plates person / food-sharer (you're wrong).
You definitely want the Mai Tai. And the butterscotch miso tart.
Whenever we want to celebrate, we head to Santino's and order a "special occasion meatball," aka the "Bocce ball." Bought a new TV? Special occasion meatball. Put an offer in on a house? Special occasion meatball. You get it. (Don't actually ask for a "special occasion meatball," they won't know what you mean - we made this up.)
Across the street from the Hilton Garden Inn! This new-ish restaurant is an offshoot of another great spot - Uncle Wolfie's. ALSO! They have vegan options.
Central Standard painted their space blue, so Mia painted our dining room blue. Rooftop bar! Old fashioneds!
